“Someone will always come and get you and pull you along!” by Steve Saks

How was you physical shape when you started the program and what type of progress have you made?

I thought I was in pretty good shape when I started this program. The high intensity of the PT workout takes a couple of weeks to adjust but, you can’t find a better workout anywhere.

Do you have a favorite SEAL PT memory or workout that comes to mind? Even a funny/memory involving Instructor Walston or one of the other Instructors?

I remember Instructor Walston, leading the exercises in boot camp and we were doing flutter kicks, which is one of my favorites. I knew I could do 100 pretty easily, but he never stopped until he reached 250 and he didn’t miss one.  Instructor Walston was like the bionic man. His favorite saying was, the only easy day was yesterday. When you’re at PT, especially when Instructor Walston is there, you feel like you’re in the moment for that one hour of class. I remember our Thursday morning swim/PT at the Park during the winter. The pool wasn’t heated so you had to keep moving to stay somewhat warm. The best part of Seal PT is the team work and camaraderie. That’s why I’ve stuck with this program for all these years. And, the Seals motto, (No Man Will Be Left Behind), they hold true to those words. If you’re having a tough day and have to drop back, someone will always come and get you and pull you along.

Any advice for someone wanting to try SEAL PT?

It’s not for everyone, but if you want to get in great shape and not afraid to get out of your comfort zone, then you’ve come to the right place. Hooyah!
